The Hands & Hearts on JMJ Farms
JMJ Farms USA and Skálholt Icelandics are separate, family-connected operations sharing the same farm and much of its everyday life. Naturally, many of the hands, responsibilities, friendships and experiences around the farm overlap. Here we introduce some of the special people who share in the work, the horses, the friendships and the spirit of life on JMJ Farms.
Lucas Folz
JMJ Farms USA & Skálholt Icelandics
Farm Manager • Horseman
Builder & Fixer of Just About Everything
Lucas grew up on the farm and has become an indispensable part of daily life at JMJ Farms USA and Skálholt Icelandics. He manages farm operations, cares for the land, keeps equipment running, and is always the one to tackle the next project—big or small. Over the years, his knowledge and abilities have continued to grow, and he is now adept at assisting Kentigern in his horse training and riding lesson program. His strong work ethic, horse sense and willingness to help wherever needed make him an invaluable part of our farm family.

Rodney & Kathrin
JMJ Farms USA & Skálholt Icelandics
Boarders • Riders • Friends Who Became Family
“We’ve Got Your Back” Team
Rodney and Kathrin’s journey with us began as clients taking riding lessons. Along the way, they purchased their horse, Sugar, who is now boarded here while they continue their riding, training and education. Somewhere along that journey, they became much more than clients and boarders. They became dear friends and part of our extended farm family—and what we affectionately call our “We’ve Got Your Back” Team.
Whether something comes up unexpectedly or they are simply here spending time with Sugar, four extra eyes are always quietly looking out for the farm and horses. If something seems out of place, they notice. If something is empty, they refill it. If something needs putting back where it belongs, they take care of it—and if they see something that needs our attention, they let us know.
It is that quiet habit of looking beyond their own horse and watching out for the horses, the people and the farm around them that makes Rodney and Kathrin such a special part of JMJ Farms USA and Skálholt Icelandics.
